Independent Living
Independent Living Skills Program
Our independent living skills component is designed to help youth enhance their abilities and increase self-reliance and self-confidence. Family resources are often not available to our youth as they reach adulthood and many will leave our care as they turn 18, moving directly into their own apartments. This, of course, takes considerable planning and necessary knowledge in order to be successful.
Our programming covers basic life skills, including how to look for suitable housing, budgeting, cooking, cleanliness, furniture and apartment needs, health care, community etc. By providing youth with training and resources, we help young men take control of their lives in order to live independently.
